About Me.jpg

Hi, I'm Anna.

I grew up in Sweden surrounded by the stories of Astrid Lindgren, before discovering Marian Keyes in my teens and falling in love with stories about ordinary people living wonderfully complicated lives.

I've always had a vivid imagination and an almost endless curiosity about people. I want to know why we make the choices we do, why some people stay with us forever and why others pass briefly through our lives but somehow leave a mark.

Travel feeds that curiosity too. I'm endlessly inspired by places, from the familiarity of Sweden to London streets, Brisbane's bayside and anywhere I've never been before. I love the idea that places become part of who we are, just as people do.

A creative career

Before fiction became part of my creative life, storytelling was already my work.

My career has moved through photography, marketing, copywriting, branding and creative strategy. I've worked both in-house and through my own creative studio, helping businesses find the words, imagery and ideas that make people stop, notice and connect.

That experience has shaped the way I approach everything I create. I'm interested not only in what we say, but why people care.

Writing

Fiction has given me somewhere to bring together so many of the things I've always been drawn to: people, psychology, relationships, place and the tiny moments that quietly change the direction of a life.

I write contemporary women's fiction grounded in real life, with a particular fascination for identity, friendship, love and the different versions of ourselves we become along the way.

I'm currently working on my fiction privately while pursuing traditional publication.
